Wohlauf, ihr Musikanten
zu diesem neuen Jahr,
alle dieser Kunst Verwandten
singen mit der Engel Schar.
Heut Gott ist Mensch geboren,
nach seinem Wort fürwahr,
wie er denn zuvor geschworen
unsern Vätern hell und klar.
Darum vor allen Dingen
in dieser Gnadenzeit,
lasset euer Stimm erklingen,
Gott zu dienen seid bereit.
Frohlockt und triumphieret,
von Herzen allzumal,
musizieret und psallieret,
dass es in der Luft erschall.
Solchs ist alles erfüllet,
an diesem Kindlein klein,
denn in Windelein ist eingehüllet
unser liebes Jesulein.
Sein große Wohltat rühmet
und seine Freundlichkeit,
jubilieret und schön modulieret
wie die Eng'l in Ewigkeit.
