Wiewohl ich arm und elend bin,
so hab ich doch ein' steten Sinn,
Hoffnung tut mich ernähren,
die mir von Gott bescheret ist,
mag mir kein Mensch nicht wehren.

Viel falsche Zungen hassen mich,
es wird ihn' alles helfen nicht,
Gott ist voll großer Güte,
dem ich mein' Sach' befehlen tu,
der wird mich wohl behüten.

Und wär'n der Kläffer noch so viel,
so g'schieht doch, was Gott haben will.
Gott ist mein Trost auf Erden.
So schwör ich das bei meinem Eid,
kein Lieb're soll mir werden.

Drum ist mein Herz betrübet sehr,
Gott woll all' Ding zum Besten kehr'n,
ich fahr dahin mit Schmerzen.
Ich seh, daß ichs nicht wenden mag,
Gott tröst all b'trübte Herzen.
