Veni, dilecte mi, egrediamur in agrum, commoremur in villis,
mane surgamus ad vineas, videamus si floruit vinea,
si flores fructus parturiunt, si floruerunt mala punica:
ibi dabo tibi ubera mea.
English translation
Come, my beloved, let us go forth into the fields, and lodge in the vilages;
let us go out early to the vineyards, and see whether the vines have budded,
whether the grape blossoms have opened and the pomegranates are in bloom.
There I will give you my breasts.
Dutch translation

Kom, mijn liefste,
laten we het veld in gaan,
laten we overnachten in de dorpen.
Dan trekken we ’s ochtends vroeg de wijngaarden in
om te zien of de wijnstok al bloeit,
of er al knoppen aan de vruchtbomen komen
