Documentation

THIS TEMPLATE is to be used on a music publication page, where more than one Edition of a publication exists. It has up to parameters, for up to 10 editions. This is similar to the template Volumes, but PubEditions operates independently. This is to allow for different Editions of a Volume (or Part).

1. Number of editions
2. Four-digit year of publication of first edition 1.
3. Name of first edition 1, capitalized, singular and in the appropriate language. If parameter is blank, defaults to Edition 1.
4. Text comments on the first edition 1, such as number of pages, publisher.

5. Four-digit year of second edition
6. Name of second edition, capitalized and singular as before. 7. Text comments on second edition

8. Four-digit year of third edition
9. Name of third edition 10. Text comments on third edition

... and so on, up to parameters.

Example 1
{{PubEditions|4|1830|First Edition|178 pp., published in London.|1835|Edition 2A|232 pp.|1837|Edition 2B|234 pp.|1840|Edition 3|259 pp.}}

would yield

Editions

First Edition, 1830 – 178 pp., published in London.
Edition 2A, 1835 – 232 pp.
Edition 2B, 1837 – 234 pp.
Edition 3, 1840 – 259 pp.

Example 2

This template is designed for use with Template {{MultiPubList}}; when the two are used together, and with "ed=" in the {{Pub}} template on all work pages, several tables are produced, one for each edition. For examples, see .

This template produces several DPL variables (dplvar) that are used in {{MultiPubList}} later in the page: z1, z2, …, z10 (four-digit years, up to 10 of them); and ne (the number of editions).
