Spent'è d'amor la gloria e spent'insieme,
E di virtut'ogni bel lum'ardente,
Se co resta sepolt'eternamente,
De tutt'i bei desiri il frutt'e'l seme,
Da che pur mort'un picciol sasso preme,
Costei che viv'un sol fu veramente,
Tra l'altre belle hor mond'egro e dolente,
In che diporti resta amor e speme.
Ma che morta (dico io) s'hor bianca imperla,
Tutt'il cielo e del ciel fatt'una stella,
E di piu lum'a noi ch'interra haverla,
Vive malgrado tuo parca ribella,
Quest'unica gentil candida perla,
Qui d'ogn'altra piu chiara in ciel piu bella.
