Italian.png Italian text

Se tu mi lasci, perfida, tuo danno:
non ti pensar che sia
misera senza te la vita mia.
Misero ben sarei
se miseria i' stimassi e non ventura
perder chi non mi cura
e ricovrar quel che di me perdei.
Misera tu, che per novello amore
perdi quel fido core
ch’era piú tuo che tu di te non sei;
ma il tuo già non perd’io,
perché non fu mai mio.

English.png English translation

If you leave me, devious one, the harm befalls you:
do not think that my life will
be miserable without you.
I would be miserable indeed
if I thought it misery and not good fortune
to lose who cares not for me
and recoup what I had lost of myself.
You truly are miserable, who for a new lover
lose that faithful heart
that was yours more than you are of yourself.
As for your heart, I can not lose it,
for it was never mine.

Si tu me délaisses, perfide, dommage à toi:

a já bych ztratil někoho, kdo o mne nestojí
