Italian text
Sù le fiorite sponde
D’Arno cantava Amore,
Pien di celeste adore,
Al cui canto gentile,
Vidi guidar amorosetti balli,
Ninfe vezzose e snelle,
Quai son del ciel le fiammeggianti stelle,
E per quei stessi calli,
I satiri scherzavano,
E i pastor saltavano,
Gridando ninfe, satiri e pastori,
Viva la bella Dori.
English text
Upon the flowery banks
of the Arno, Cupid sang
full of heavenly ardor
to which fair song
I saw graceful and slender nymphs
wind in and out with dainty steps;
even as the sparkling stars in heaven,
in these same paths
the satyrs sported,
the shepherds leapt,
and the nymphs, satyrs, and shepherds shouted:
“Long live fair Dori!”.
Dutch text
Op de bloemrijke oevers
van de Arno zong Amor,
vervuld van hemels vuur;
op dit zoet gezang zag ik
gratieuze dansen door
mooie slanke ninfen,
onder de stalende sterren aan de hemel,
en langs deze paden
speelden de saters,
maakten de herders sprongen,
en riepen ninfen, saters en herders uit:
"Leve de schone Dori!"
