Description: First published in The Village Compilation, 1806, p. 38, for three voices: Treble-Tenor-Bass. Words by Isaac Watts, 1709, Hymn 87 of Book 1, in five stanzas. Belknap used the first two stanzas of Watts' hymn in his composition.
