Life
Born: ca. 1453?
Died: fl. ca. 1490
Biography: Little is known of John Browne, save for his being represented by 15 works in the earlier folios of the Eton Choirbook (from about 1490 to 1500), although 5 of these works are lost and three more incomplete. It is also likely that three carols in the Fayrfax Manuscript attributed to "Browne" are his. His contemporaries include Walter Lambe, Richard Davy, William Cornysh, Robert Fayrfax, William Horwood, Robert Wylkynson and Hugh Kellyk.
