Edition notes: The order of parts in the source is Tenor - [Alto] - Air - [Bass], with both the Tenor and Alto parts printed in the treble clef an octave above sounding pitch. Only the first verse of the text is underlaid in the source: the five subsequent verses given here are printed after the music, and the first three of these have been underlaid editorially. The soprano A and alto F on beat 1 of bar 8, given here as crotchets, are printed in the source as small crotchet grace notes followed by full-sized dotted crotchets on the G and E respectively.
