German text ES giengent Neun junckfrawen/  frisch auff/ schnapp auff/ sie wolten wunder schawen/ dort nyden auff der awen/  frisch auff/ schnap auff, schnap nieder, schnap unden herwieder, schnap auff.

English translation Nine maidens did go  Briskly out,/ Snapp it upp, To see wondrous things down in the fields  Briskly out,/ Snapp it upp, snapp it down,  snapp it up again.
