Voice 1:
Doctorum principem super ethera
revocant virtutum digna merita
ergo vive voci detur opera
promat mentis fervor intus concita

O Francisce Zabarelle, gloria
doctor honos et lumen Patavorum,
vive felix de tanta victoria
pro te virescit fama Patavorum,

O Francisce Zabarelle, pabula
Parasti pastoribus armentorum
quibus pascani oves grata secula
te pro muner revocant laborum. Amen.

Voice 2:
Melodia suavissima cantemus
tangat voces melliflue sidera,
concordie carmen liram sonemus
resonet per chorus pulsa cithara.

O Francisce Zabarelle, protector
imo verus pater rei publice,
illos ad se vocat rerum conditor
qui fortune miserentur lubrice.

O Francisce Zabarelle, causas
specularis omnium creatorum
tuas posteri resonebunt musas
per omnia secula seculorum. Amen.

Voice 1:
The foremost of teachers is summoned above the ether
by the worthy achievements of his virtues.
Therefore let attention be given to the living voice,
let our fervor bring forth our minds’ inner stirrings.

Francesco Zabarella, the glory,
teacher, honor, and light of the Paduans;
live happy from so great a victory;
through you the fame of the Paduans flourishes.

Francesco Zabarella, you have prepared
grazing for the shepherds of the flocks,
whereon the sheep may graze; the grateful generations
echo your name as a reward for you labors. Amen.

Voice 2:
Let us sing in the sweetest melody,
let our honeyed voices touch the stars,
let us play our song concordantly on the lyre,
let the cithara be struck and sound through our choirs.

Francesco Zabarella, the protector
or rather the true father of the State,
the creator of the world summons those to him
who have pity on fickle fortune.

Francesco Zabarella, you investigate
the causes of all creatures;
posterity will celebrate your skills
for all time, world without end. Amen.
