Edition notes: Note heads in four-shape format, as originally published in 1818. The nine stanzas included from Ingalls (1805); Johnson included stanzas 1, 2, 3, and 7, revised somewhat from Ingalls' version.

Description: Originally published by Jeremiah Ingalls in 1805, for three voices in D minor, entitled Honor to the Hills. A folk hymn (Jackson 1935a, no. 142), based on a 17th-century ballad, Captain Kidd. This arrangement by Alexander Johnson formed to basis for the three-voice Captain Kidd in Southern Harmony, page 50.
