Description: A Scottish traditional tune, arranged by William Walker in 1835. Walker's arrangement for three parts was included in The Sacred Harp, p. 152, from 1844 through 1911. It was also arranged by William Hauser in his Hesperian Harp, 1848. The words by an anonymous author, in Andrew Broaddus' Dover Selection of Spiritual Songs, 1828; this text is similar in the first two lines to Soldiers of the cross, arise / Lo, your leader from the skies written by Jared Waterbury, 1830.
