Geschwisterlich, und alle gleichgerichtet,
Stehn die gebückten, tropfenden im Wind,
Bang und verschüchtert noch und regenblind,
Und manche schwache brach und liegt vernichtet.
Sie heben langsam, noch betäubt und zagend,
Die köpfe wieder ins geliebte Licht,
Geschwisterlich, ein erstes Lächeln wagend:
Wir sind noch da, der Feind verschlang uns nicht.
Mich mahnt der Anblick an so viele Stunden,
Da ich betäubt, in dunklem Lebenstriebe,
Aus Nacht und Elend mich zurück gefunden
