Latin text Gabriel: Ave Maria, grátia pléna, Dóminus técum. Choir: Quæ cum audísset, turbáta est, turbáta est, in sermóne éjus, et cogitábat quális ésset ísta salutátio. Gabriel: Ne tímeas María. Ecce concípies in utero, et páries fílium, et vocábis nómen éjus Jesum. Choir: Quómodo, quómodo fíet ístud, quóniam vírum non cognósco? Gabriel: Spíritus sanctus súper véniet in te, et vírtus Altíssimi obumbrábit tíbi. Choir: Ecce ancíla Dómini, fíat, fíat míhi secúndum vérbum túum!

English translation Gabriel: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Choir: She who hears this, she is puzzled by this speech, and wonders what is this greeting. Gabriel: Don't be afraid, Mary. You will conceive in your womb the son of the Father, and you will name him Jesus. Choir: How can this be, for I know no man? Gabriel: The Holy Spirit will overcome in you, and a strength from above will fill you. Choir: I am the Lord's servant: let it be thus!

French translation Salut Marie  - Luc 1 : 28-38 Gabriel: Salut Marie, le Seigneur est avec toi. Choeur: Troublée par cette parole, Marie se demandait ce que pouvait signifier une telle salutation. Gabriel: N’aie pas peur, Marie, voici que tu seras enceinte. Tu mettras au monde un fils et tu lui donneras le nom de Jésus. Choeur: Comment cela se fera-t-il, puisque je n'ai pas de relations avec un homme? Gabriel: Le Saint-Esprit viendra sur toi et la puissance du Très-Haut te couvrira de son ombre. Choeur: Je suis la servante du Seigneur. Que ta parole s’accomplisse pour moi!
