viel Klagens, Weinens und Heulens,
Rahel beweinete ihre Kinder
und wollt sich nicht trösten lassen,
denn es war aus mit ihnen.

In Rama was there a voice heard,
lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
