Life

Born: 4 September 1886, Matelica, Macerata

Died: 28 January 1960, Rome

Biography
Italian composer of sacred works, in 1915 he graduated in Composition at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome. In 1920 he won the 2nd place in a national composition competition of new masses. He was first organist of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in 1924; later was nominated Maestro di Cappella at the Chiesa del Gesù and at the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli. Directed also the choir Madrigalisti della Accademia Filarmonica Romana. From 1929 on he was in charge of the classes of Choir Singing at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome. He was highly esteemed by Lorenzo Perosi.
