Italian text
Acheronte, errini horribili,
di cocito aspiterribili
accendete il moi furor
flagellate, lacerate il traditor.
Questo e l’ardore
che giurasti sper giurio
questo e l’amore
che mentisti Fellone
e questa e la mercede
a l’amor mio empio sleal!
Ah, Dio,
Son pur Lilla no’l vedi
infingi non saperlo
e se no’l credi,
scorgi mira il mio core,
barbaro feritore
e se cor di ferir non sei contento,
straccia, sbranna il mio sen,
piu non pavento.
Piu non temo le straggi,
le pene e di morir
par fine a tant’oltraggi
sol bastara il morir.
Cio dise l’infelice
spargendo da bei lumi
un mar di pianto
e con acuto stilo
troncando a giorni
suoi l’ultimo filo
con barbaro furore
verso dagl’occhi
e dalla piaga il core.
