Latin text Veni in hortum meum soror mea sponsa, messui myrram meam cum aromatibus meis; comedi favum meum cum melle meo; bibi vinum meum cum lacte meo; comedite, amici, et bibite, et inebriamini, carissimi.

English translation I have come into my garden, my sister, my bride; I have mixed my myrrh with my spices. I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. Eat, friends, and drink, and be inebriated, you who are most dear to me.

Dutch translation Hier ben ik in mijn hof, zusje, bruid van mij. Ik pluk mijn ​mirre​ en mijn balsem, ik eet mijn honing uit mijn honingraat, ik drink mijn melk en mijn ​wijn. Eet, vrienden! Drink, en wordt dronken van ​liefde!
