To make a score request

  • 1) Create the request page by filling in the box below with Request:Title (Composer name). For example:
    Request:Ave regina caelorum (Carlo Gesualdo)

Common mistakes are leaving a space between "Request:" and the title, or inserting extra spaces around the composer's first and last names, enclosed in parentheses.

For titles, use sentence capitalization (of the title's language) for titles that are the same as the first words of the lyric; for example:

O praise the Lord with one consent (George Frideric Handel)
Meine Seel erhebt den Herrn (Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow)
Funeral Anthem for Queen Caroline, HWV 264 (George Frideric Handel)

Instead of:

O Praise the Lord with One Consent (George Friedrich Händel)
Meine seel erhebt den herrn (Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow)
Funeral anthem for Queen Caroline, HWV 264 (George Frideric Handel)

CPDL conventions for work names are described in more detail at Help:Style conventions. Preferred forms composer names are used on their pages, with variants (e.g. Lassus) redirecting there.

  • 2) Click on the button "Create a Score Request".
  • 3) Edit the form on the new request page as directed, adding enough detail to identify the work in case there is more than one setting or arrangement. This last is especially important if the composer is Anonymous or Traditional!
