Note on CPDL #34201, Jay Young's edition of the Tomkins Preces & Responses:

The optional final Amen (III.b) taken from the Magnificat of Tomkin's Second Service would probably be better to cadence from D Major to A Major, rather than a minor to E Major.

Also, the last lower bass note in the original final Amen (III.a) appears to be a misprint (G instead of A). Dpxpubs (talk) 07:07, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
