Description: This is the opening madrigal of the collection which is dedicated to two brothers named in the text, Giorgio and Giovanni "Conti di Montfort, & Baroni di Bregemz et PegKa." The modern name for this family is Montfort-Bregenz-Peggau, at Duc's time Montforth-Bregenz-Beckach was used. Peggau lies in Styria (Austria).
