Description: Sacrae cantiones I – the original title of this collection is Sacrarum Cantionum Liber Primus (= "Sacred Choral Music, First Book" – a second book of motets for six and seven voices is partially lost). Like the Tenebrae Responsories (1611), Sacrae Cantiones I is a collection of 19 motets for five voices (SATTB) in a mixture of styles.
