Italian text Questi odorati fiori, Gialli, persi, vermigli, azzurri e bianchi, Ch’in sugl’estivi ardori E freschi e dolci nidi, Erano agl’Amoretti afflitti e stanchi; Braman, Donna Real, aver ricetto Sotto il bel vel che vi nasconde il petto.

English translation These fragrant flowers, yellow, peach, red, blue and white, that in the heat of summer were a fresh and sweet resting place for the lovelorn, weary Cupids; They desire, noble Lady, to find haven beneath the lovely veil that conceals your breast. Translation by Allen Garvin
