O praise God, all you his people
Who stand before him now
And wait for his coming again.
Recall his loving power,
Accept his powerful love
And worship him!
We the mighty God has chosen
Like the band of Israelites
Have been brought from our slav’ry and sin.
As he leads us through desert
Into the promised land
We follow him.
And though we have often left him
For idols of poor stone,
Broken cisterns, leaking and grim,
He is still the living water
Offered free to all
We return to him.
Through Jesus he has shown us
His face and his full heart,
His care for all the races of men.
He calls us to do likewise,
His hands of love to be,
We obey him.
We remember now his coming
Which he promised in his Word,
A new earth to make, a new heav’n.
We rejoice though with great longing.
Prepare our hearts anew
And adore him!
