1. The Pedlar's Caravan
I wish I lived in a caravan,
With a horse to drive, like a pedlar man!
Where he comes from nobody knows,
Nor where he goes to, but on he goes.

His caravan has windows two,
With a chimney of tin that the smoke comes through,
He has a wife and a baby sweet
And they go riding from street to street.

Chairs to mend and pots to sell,
He clashes the basins like a bell.
Teatrays, baskets ranged in order,
Plates with the alphabet round the border.

The roads are brown and the sea is green,
But his house is just like a bathing machine,
The world is round, but he can ride,
Rumble and splash to the other side.

With the pedlar man I should like to roam,
And write a book when I come home.
And where we've been then you will know,
I've told you all, so it must be so!

2. Night Piece
Her eyes the glowworm lend thee,
The shooting stars attend thee,
And the elves also,
Whose little eyes glow,
Like the sparks of fire, befriend thee.

No willo'thewisp mislight thee,
Nor snake or slowworm bite thee;
But on, on thy way,
Not making a stay,
Since ghost there's none to affright thee.

Let not the dark thee cumber
What though the moon does slumber!
The stars of the night,
Will lend thee their light
Like tapers clear, without number.

3. My Black Cat
My black cat,
Is always on my knee
He's so dopy he catches a bumblebee.

My black cat,
Is always on my knee
He's so dopy he catches a bumblebee.

He doesn't stop purring
But he plays with string
My black cat is a darling.

My black cat,
Is always on my knee
He's so dopy he catches a bumblebee.

He doesn't stop purring
But he plays with string
My black cat is a darling.

My black cat!

4. Whether the Weather
Whether the weather be fine,
or whether the weather be hot,
Whether the weather be cold,
or whether the weather be not,
We'll weather the weather, whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not.
Or not !
