Fair land, we greet thee! Dear are thy plains and mountains,
Fondly greet thee, O lovely land of Wales!
There is music in thy fountains, And sunlight in thy vales.
Yes, we greet thee, lovely land!
Ah! Dear home of our fathers, we hear that sweet music,
And memory brings back the first days of our youth,
When free as a wild-bird in gladness we wandered,
And earth seemed a garden of sunlight and truth.
Dear land of our fathers, we hear that sweet music,
And memory brings back the first days of our youth.

Fair land, we greet thee! O peaceful scenes of childhood,
Welcome! welcome unto the wanderer's sight.
The birds amid thy wild-woods Still sing in the golden light.
Yes, we greet thee, lovely land!
Ah! Thy bards tune their harps to the lays that are sweetest,
Thy warriors for valour e'er bore off the crown,
Thy maidens the fairest, the purest, the neatest
Are worthy a race of such ancient renown.
