Subdue us by thy goodness,
awake us by thy grace;
that men whose hearts are weary
May life anew embrace
And though earth's woes be near us,
Thy Spirit still shall cheer us
All praise and thanks to thee!

Transform us by thy kindness
awake us through thy grace;
that we put on the new man,
the old man's power efface
while here as mortals live we,
our hearts and thanks we give thee
our trust in thee we place.
