Aren't Barber's works still under copyright? —Carlos Email.gif 03:08, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, all of Barber's works are under copyright. He died in 1981. I've removed the links to the PDF here and on the Barber page. -- Chucktalk Giffen 04:42, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok Chuck, thanks. With regards to the solution taken (i.e. comment out the "Sheet music' category), as I was saying yesterday on the forum, it doesn't seem to be the best solution, because the work will continue to be listed in other categories as "Sacred music", "SATB" etc. We must think of another alternative: either delete the page completely, or comment out the whole text and archive the page, or... what? —Carlos Email.gif 05:27, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Copyright-violating works must be deleted. Obscuring the link to find them is not sufficient--if a copy exists on CPDL servers, it's technically a violation even if it's difficult for users to find it. Can someone please delete ASAP or let me know how to delete the uploaded file? Should we keep score pages for copyrighted works and indicate that the piece is still under copyright therefore not available? Or does that clutter things up too much? Tx for spotting this. --Vaarky 08:36, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for deleting the PDF files, Carlos. I was busy last night and could not get to that task. I suppose we can safely delete the Barber page and the Agnus Dei page, since it will be more than 40 years before CPDL could ever hope to host any works by Barber. -- Chucktalk Giffen 13:07, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
I agree, Chuck. And still on this subject, should we do the same to Marco Frisina's page? —Carlos Email.gif 14:20, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Decision: Delete. Discussion archived. --Bobnotts talk 23:21, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
